Eastern Indonesia triggered by 6.8 Magnitude Earthquake


According to the Seismologist, a massive underwater earthquake has shaken up the Easter part of Indonesia today. At the same time, no tsunami threat has been declared by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The USGS had to say that the center point of this destructive earthquake to be at the Banda Sea with a primary magnitude recorded to be of 6.8 with a depth of 375 miles which is approximately 600 kilometers away from the Sulawesi Island.

There has been no evidence of any destruction in the land or at least the feel of the same. The news from USGS confirms the epicenter to be 125 miles which is 200 kilometers from Baubau, the coastal town and also around 275 kilometers or 170 miles from the Flores Island, the closest place where people live.
