Know More about the Treatment of Swine Flu

After positive diagnosis of swine flu from a lab, the person must undergo antiviral drug treatments. These are very effective in reducing the consequences of the infection thus making the patient better than before. Ostelamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir(Relenza) are the two anti-viral agents recommended by the US CDC for treating human swine flu cases. The strain proving to be a pandemic one has been noted to be resistant to the earlier used drugs, namely, rimantadine and amanatadine.

Vaccination is the greatest of all the treatments available to prevent the spread of dreaded virus. Unfortunately, till date the vaccination has not been coined out to act against swine flu. The Indian government has announced that by December they might positively come up with the vaccination to eradicate this problem. At the same time, if any other country finds out a possible vaccination to treat the disease, all necessary steps will be immediately taken to import the medicine.
